Other International Markets
For markets not listed separately, we start from the project specification: governing code, material standards, inspection regime and delivery route are confirmed before any proposal.
Market Overview
Many projects are located in countries where the governing code is a national adaptation of the Eurocodes, American codes or British Standards, or where an international EPC contractor writes the specification. In these cases the project documents, not the country name, define what the steelwork must comply with.
A clear, documented starting point avoids the most common problems in cross-border steel supply: unaccepted materials, unapproved welding procedures, unclear connection design responsibility and coating systems unsuited to the site.
Codes, Approvals & Regulatory Context
Before quoting, the following are confirmed with the client: the design code and its edition, the material specification and acceptance of equivalents, the inspection and testing regime, required certification of the fabricator, local approval or registration needs, and any local content conditions.
Engineering for this Market
Engineering scope is agreed per project: design support to the specified code, connection design where delegated, shop drawings and erection documentation in the units and language required by the reviewing engineer.
Fabrication Considerations
Fabrication processes, tolerances and NDT extent are taken from the governing execution standard named in the specification, such as EN 1090-2, AWS D1.1 or AS/NZS 5131, and documented in a project inspection and test plan.
Quality Requirements
- Project-specific inspection and test plan
- Material traceability from mill certificate to piece mark
- Welding procedures qualified to the specified standard
- Agreed hold and witness points for the client or third party
Coating Requirements
- Coating system selected for the assessed site corrosivity
- Surface preparation and DFT inspection records
- Galvanizing where specified
Certifications Typically Requested by Clients
- Certifications named in the project specification
- Independent inspection where required by the client
- Documentation in the language required for approval
Export & Logistics
Logistics are planned from the nearest suitable port to site, considering transport limits, customs requirements, packing for sea freight and storage at site.
