Steel Erection Engineering
Erection planning, sequencing, temporary stability, lifting, bolting, field welding, alignment, tolerances and safety.
A structure is often most vulnerable while it is being built. Erection engineering plans the sequence, temporary bracing and lifting so that every stage is stable, and defines how alignment and tolerances are achieved and checked.
This is general guidance. It does not replace the project-approved erection method statement or the responsibility of the competent engineer for temporary works.
